Coalbed Methane (CBM) extraction is a technically demanding process fundamental to diversifying the global energy mix. Drilling and dewatering operations at remote well pads are highly power-dependent, where any interruption can lead to significant operational delays, safety risks, and financial loss. For the blocks Shenfu, securing a continuous and utterly reliable power source was not an option but a prerequisite for success. This project showcases our delivery of a robust, customized power generation fleet engineered specifically to support these essential drilling operations with guaranteed, uninterrupted power.

Our Customized Power Solution

The project's core requirement was absolute electrical reliability for scattered, unmanned well pads in a challenging environment. We provided a comprehensive power solution based on a fleet of 41 natural gas-fueled generator sets, with individual units rated between 250-375kVA. This scalable range allowed for precise power matching to the specific load demands of different pads, optimizing fuel efficiency and operational flexibility.

We conducted detailed site assessments to understand the decentralized operational model and harsh climatic conditions. Based on this, we supplied a complete package of generator sets, each integrated with our advanced control systems for automatic start/stop, load management, and remote performance monitoring. The units were configured for the standard 400V/50Hz​ grid, ensuring seamless plug-and-play compatibility with the onsite electrical infrastructure. Beyond equipment sales, our support included comprehensive technical specifications, installation guidance, and operational training, ensuring a smooth and efficient deployment across all 41 sites.

Technical Execution and Deployed Assets

The solution leveraged our specially engineered generator sets designed for continuous duty in isolated locations. Their compact and robust design facilitated transportation and setup at dispersed well pads. The use of pipeline natural gas as a fuel ensured a readily available, cost-effective, and cleaner-burning energy source compared to alternatives. Each unit forms a self-sufficient power node, autonomously supplying the precise amount of electricity required for drilling motors, pumps, control systems, and auxiliary equipment, thereby eliminating the risk and cost associated with grid unreliability.
Quantifiable Impact and Value

The deployment of our power solution delivered direct, measurable benefits that strengthened the entire CBM operation. The generator fleet established a resilient, 24/7 power backbone, ensuring continuous power supply for stable operations​ and protecting the project’s critical timeline for drilling and dewatering. Beyond operational assurance, the solution enhanced efficiency and cost control. The right-sized generators operate near peak load efficiency, maximizing fuel economy and engine life, while the use of onsite natural gas further reduced operational costs. Integrated remote monitoring enables proactive maintenance, preventing unexpected failures and safeguarding the operational budget.
